Regarding Helath Care in America you must be "In Network" to get your contracted rate.

Part of what we do at www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com is to educate our clients to maximize the value that they are getting from their health insurance policy. When it comes to a PPO and having services performed we stress the importance of staying “In Network.” Why? Because YOU WILL NOT get the contracted rate UNLESS you are IN NETWORK!

In Network, are the facilities that accept your insurance! Hospital’s, Physician Offices, Labs, Pharmacies, and ANY health care providers MUST accept your insurance from you to receive the contracted rates. The very best way to insure that these health care providers accept your insurance is to simply ASK, and CONFIRM! And you can’t always rely on what you see on the insurance’s website when you search for a provider, if you are unsure have your broker check for you, if your broker doesnt have the time to do that, give us a call and we will make sure you have all of the details before you go to a doctor only to find out they are out of network (of course in an emergency call 911 or go to the emergency room) .

I would also have your insurance broker advise you on this subject so no mistakes are made. Have your insurance broker handle ALL insurance claims, and confirm who is “In Network”, and who is “Out of Network.” Your insurance broker comes to you free of charge , so build this relationship with them, and know that a good broker is worth a lot to you.

If you go out “Out of Network” by mistake, it can be very costly to you, so find a good broker you are comfortable with and lean on them to make sure you maximize your coverage and they know how to do appeals to fight any mistakes! At www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com this is just one of the many services we provide to our clients.

Saving you money on your health insurance after you buy health insurance is what we do!

Saving you money on your health insurance is what we do at Las Vegas Health Insurance Expert. I don’t just help you choose what the best plan is for your money and needs, I save you money after you start your insurance.

It amazes me how many people think they are just slaves to their health insurance! Here’s a senario. You go to the doctor and he or she says you need a CT scan on your pelvis. The assistant at the front desk gives you a referral slip indicating two or three places where you can go to get the CT scan, or in some cases, they just refer you to one imaging facility; that’s the imaging facility THEY like to deal with. So, you make an appointment with the facility on the list and go in, get your CT scan, and then the bill comes. $1,580.00! But you wait for the adjusted rate from the insurance company. The adjusted rate comes and good thing, the adjusted rate (contracted rate) is $650.00. You have to pay that because you haven’t met your deductible, right? Well, $650 is still a lot of money. You went to an imaging facility down the street from you, but did you know that the imaging facility downtown could be cheaper? How does $300 cheaper sound?

You see, every provider has a different contracted rate with the insurance carrier. So, a CT scan at the hospital next to the doctor’s office may run you $1200, whereas the imaging center a few miles away only costs you $400 (these are just hypothetical numbers). I have found better prices in Nevada and California shopping around for my clients.

Here’s another senario. We just saved my client an Emergency Room visit because she was bit by a spider. Her leg started numbing up, she said she felt like it was down the whole side of her body. She said “do I go to Emergency?” I told her if she felt like dying, or if anything has happened to her head, to always go to emergency, but if you just need to get it checked out, you go to Urgent Care. She forgot that I gave her an Urgent Care list of facilities around her and she pulled it out and went to one of those for the cost of an office visit rather than paying into her deductible a huge amount. People do not realize that the Emergency Room will cost you an arm and a leg, so you better be prepared to pay into your deductible if you go, but I advise my clients to go to Urgent Care if they want to save money. I leave it up to them, it’s their choice, but educating people on what they will have to face will help them make wiser decisions with their insurance.

Contracted Rates are what saves you the client hundreds to thousands of dollars because you get the insurance companies negotiated contracted rates. Use a broker that knows this and you will save money.

Contracted Rates are a critical component of the health insurance industry and at www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com we strive to maximize our clients value by ensuring that our clients get the ”contracted rates,” or “usual and customary rates” that physician, hospitals, pharmacy, and lab facilities charge. We feel it is the single most important aspect of why all of us must have health insurance coverage. The “contracted rate” or “usual and customary” charges are a fraction of what your bill would be if you did not have health insurance coverage. The “contracted rate” is the rate negotiated between your major medical insurance company and the health care provider. These rates are not usually disclosed until you need a service done. Typically what happens is you go to the doctor for a service, lets say you go for a check-up, the doctor sends you a bill for $135.00 your insurance company has negotiated with that doctor that they will only charge $45.00, you pay the negotiated rate of $45.00 and the rest is written off. However if you do not have insurance, you owe $135.00. As you can see from the simple example having health insurance saves you money, now imagine if you were in a major accident (hospitalization or need of any major services). and those costs were multiplied by 10, 25 or even 100 and you can see how easily you would save thousands of dollars. The balance of the potentially huge claim IS ”written off”.

I have many claims on hand, and please allow me to share two with you:

The hospital charge was over $95,000 for one of my clients, Steve H. and the final amount owed by Steve was $1500 as the rest of the balance due was written off because of the CONTRACTED RATE!

Another claim that recently came in was for a knee surgery. The claim was for $8800, BUT my client only had to pay $1100 as the balance was, again, “written off” due to the CONTRACTED RATE.

Make sure that you ONLY pay the USUAL AND CUSTOMARY or the CONTRACTED RATE on all of your procedures or claims, and please make sure you have an expert like us at www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com handling your claims and appeals as well.

Las Vegas Health Insurance Expert gives the dirt on what its like to purchase independent health insurance.

On purchasing individual health insurance.

When you need insurance, you look on the Internet or ask a friend. Some people look in the phone book, too. The first thing you want to know is “how much is health insurance going to cost me and what will I get?” If you use the Internet, BEWARE! Your information is sold. There’s a careful way you can get the price without your information being sold. Searching on the Internet you put in your information hoping to get a quote; do you realize what happens with your information? You enter information like your name, age, birth-date, whether you smoke or not, etc… you click submit and then, of course, a quote is not sent to you, a bubble pops up and you are told a broker will be calling you to give you your quote. Then immediately, unless its 2 a.m. you start getting phone call after phone call for three to four days from health insurance brokers! All of them claiming to be the cheapest and the best, right?? If you are lucky enough to find www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com you WILL be able to get that instant free no obligation quote within 20 seconds! Then if you want to try the other methods here is how the process of health insurance sales works; you can buy health insurance either straight from the insurance company, or you can buy from a licensed health insurance agent, the cost is exactly the same insurance companies set the rates and those rates are BY LAW exactly the same (when someone claims to be cheaper for the same product, that’s impossible).

An experienced, licensed INDEPENDENT broker from www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com is the best one for you to use. This is why…

You can buy health insurance from three different types of agents; 1) an agent inside the insurance company, called a Captive Agent, 2) an agent selling insurance with an Independent Insurance Company, or 3) from an Independent Agent. All do not cost you anything to find insurance for you, but only one will get you the best deal for your money; the Independent Broker.

A Captive Agent can only sell you their plans from that insurance company, which may not be the best plan for you or at the best price for you. The plans are always changing and the prices are always changing in health insurance, so one year Company A may have the best plans and prices, and the next year Company B has the best plans and prices. A Captive Agent does NOT have your best interest at heart. They work for the insurance company, so of course their plans are the best, right!? Also, unless you ask the right questions, you may not be told everything.

Next there is the Health Insurance Agent that works for an insurance Agency. The Agent may or may not have a license to sell health insurance and they may not be appointed with ALL the insurance companies in your state to check ALL the prices and plans at a given time. Again, this does not let you see all the choices that are available to you and again, NOT having your best interest.

Lastly, there is the Independent Broker from www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com and they are appointed with the major health insurance companies (Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Health Care, Aetna, Assurant to name a few), and knows which Nevada health insurance company consistently has the best plans coupled with the best in price and value for you. The Independent health insurance broker from www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com is licensed, and will educate you on what you should be looking for in each health insurance plan and then help you choose which plan fits your needs the best and at the best price for you.

My name is Rochelle and I used to be a Human Resources Professional, I am not your typical Las VegasNevada health insurance salesperson. I LOVE to educate my clients and empower you on how to buy health insurance. Many brokers try to sell you on a low deductible or sell you on how much you are covered. I do a Needs Assessment with you and narrow down the plans based on what your needs (and wishes) are, then lay them out on the table for us to choose together which plan is best for you. Or, you tell me what you are looking for, and I will come back with three best value choices for you to choose from. I explain how the health insurance plans work in laymen’s terms so you understand what you just bought. You buy insurance from the major insurance companies, but you buy it through www.Las-Vegas-Health-Insurance-Expert.com an Independent Broker, and in doing so, you find a broker you like, trust and who empowers you the knowledge and confidence to buy the best plan for you. And as that broker I will be there for you the whole time while you have that insurance, checking in with you periodically, making sure you are “IN Network,” reviewing your claims so you don’t overspend. Buying individual Nevada health insurance, especially when you are used to employer group insurance all your life, is very different and can be confusing and daunting. Many people get frustrated and procrastinate because it’s the last thing that want to try to understand. I make it easy to understand. I did it all the time in my HR profession.

Please call me for a free analysis of your current health plan to see if I can find a better price or value for your needs. Or if you are new to purchasing individual health insurance, please click here or call me for a free, no obligation quote. I am here to help!
