Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP):

 

The Mission of the Nevada Check Up program (Children’s Health Insurance Program) is to provide low-cost, comprehensive health care coverage to low income, uninsured children (birth through 18) who are not covered by private insurance or Medicaid; while (1) promoting health care coverage for children; (2) encouraging individual responsibility; and (3) working with public and private health care providers and community advocates for children.

Healthy Kids:

 

"Healthy Kids" is a program which provides preventive health care such as immunizations, yearly physicals and referrals for health problems of Medicaid eligible infants, children and young adults.


"Healthy Kids" can provide referrals for developmental problems, vision, hearing and dental problems as well as family problems.


"Healthy Kids" is available to individuals eligible for Medicaid from birth to age 21. Click Here For More Info:

 

 

Child Health Assurance Program (CHAP):

 

Services are also available to children in families above the TANF income limits but under the poverty limits in the Child Health Assurance Program (CHAP). CHAP covers children age 5 and under in families at 133% of poverty and children born after September 30, 1983 at 100% of poverty. These children are also eligible for "Healthy Kids" services. Prenatal Care:


Prenatal medical care is critical for any pregnant woman. If you are having difficulties obtaining prenatal care, the Health Division maintains a toll-free telephone number to assist you in finding a health care provider and resources to help you pay for your prenatal care: (800) 429-2669. If you are unable to receive Medicaid or Nevada Check Up, there are some other options to choose from. For pregnant women there is a program called MOMS, for Children there is the Child Health Assurance Program or CHAP.  There is also the Healthy Kids program, below is some more of the details about these programs with links.

 

 

MOMS:

 

This is a program for either people who are on Medicaid or are qualified applicants. This program offers prenatal care for pregnant women, child birth classes, services for family planning, and social services for various abuse situations.  Also The Maternal Child Health (MCH) line helps women in Nevada obtain early and continuous prenatal care.    More Info:
